Law Enforcement
The Norristown Police Department works collaboratively with the Pennsylvania State Police to execute law enforcement and prosecution initiatives of the weed component.
The mission of the Law Enforcement component is to increase public safety awareness using public/private partnerships, and to fight crime, violence, drugs, and deter truancy among youth by encouraging a relationship between residents and law enforcement in the target area neighborhoods.
Key Initiatives
1.Secure the trust of citizens in the target areas by providing safer policing strategies.
2.Strengthen and encourage aggressive code enforcement to make safer, cleaner more productive neighborhoods.
3.Increase the use of community policing strategies, and TALL Team Leadership Members, Town Watch, Block Captains and Concerned Citizens to help promote positive relationships between the community and police officers.
4.Work with residents who use English as a second language with assistance in “all around life-skills support” by identifying, recommending, and supporting activities and services in the target area.
5.Support programs of local school district to help deter truancy among youth.
